Basically Google one pass is a new payment system for publishers to set the terms for access to their digital content. And with features like purchase-once, view-anywhere functionality and subscriptions. Something that could possibly rival Apple's app store.

The video description for this video says that "25 computers were harmed in the making of this video. Fortunately, no data was lost." Could this be the new "netbook", always working and playing in the cloud? Anyway enjoy this video by Google, featuring their new Cr-48 notebook.




And for those whom don't know of Google's pilot program can read about it here. And technically as of today 12-23-2010 people can still apply for the program. If you actually will get in is beyond me. But for a free notebook why not.

The Google Chrome Web Store is Open

The Chrome Web Store is now open as of today! To use the Web Store users need to have the latest version of Google Chrome. The store, much like Apple's app store has paid & free apps in nine different categories from education to gaming. And there's already quite a few big names in the store too, Like EA, NY Times, Amazon, Weebly & Pandora just too name a few of them.

Call phones from Gmail - For Free

Google users in the USA can call anywhere in the US and Canada for free and get low rates for other countries with a small plugin right from within Gmail. I've recently tried this new service out myself and the call quality was excellent. If I had land-line phone I would so downgrade or even cancel the service together.

Google Releases New Feature: Homepage Wallpaper!

If have a Google account you may notice a feature on the homepage after longing in. Finally being able to change the background image on the homepage! Users can choose images from their own computer, from their Picasa accounts, a public gallery or select images from the editors. Here's an example of what I picked out really quick from the nat-geo section of the public gallery. I personally thinks it adds a nice bing touch while still keeping the best search. Kind like the best of both worlds, finally mixing Bing ideas into the worlds best search.
